“Question everything in your life and then find something that you like or something that you really want to focus on that really fall in love.”
Nim Stant: Hello everyone. Welcome to the Global Thought Leaders TV. This is the place to be. My name is Nim Stand. I’m the host here. Um, today we have a special guest. Robert G. Acosta. Thank you so much, Robert, for being here.
Robert Acosta: It’s my pleasure.
Nim Stant: So Robert, I read your story, your, your bio a little bit.
This is amazing. Can you share with our audience a little bit here? What is your background? What is your backstory very briefly? And, and how did you have that journey and come to where you are today? Well, my
Robert Acosta: shift. Yeah, my back story is I was born in Mexico and, uh, I studied actuarial sciences because I like maths, but at the same time I was passionate about human behavior.
So when you combine human behavior and finances or money and mathematics, I end up with market research. So I work with multinational companies in market research and pricing strategy for almost 30 years, helping people make millions of dollars decisions.
Nim Stant: Making million dollar decision. Yeah. Okay. I’m going to, I’m going to come back with
Robert Acosta: that.
Okay. So I live in Mexico for those 40, 40 something years. Born and grew up there. I was born and raised there.
Speaker 4: Got it.
Robert Acosta: And, uh, but then I traveled all over the world with those multinational companies. So I decided that the world is bigger than just the city of just, uh, uh, one country. And when my son was born, we decided, my wife and I, we decided to, to go to Canada to explore and experiment something and giving my child, my son, uh, uh, new experiences.
And that’s why we are. We are there. And I arrived to the point that I’m here right now because I’m very good or I became very good at helping people make decisions. But instead of just helping few people, the same people in the same company, I decided to do it worldwide, any industry, any kind of, uh, people all over the, all over the world.
So that’s why I became a life coach.

Nim Stant: So we have I’ve seen a lot of life coach now a day. There’s so many life coach from 20 years old or, you know, already a life coach, right? To, you know, um, there’s a lot of life coach in the business in this world. How, how are you different?
Robert Acosta: Well, uh, it’s obvious that there are more coaches today because there are more people looking for answers.
There are more people aware that they’ve maybe not living the life that they want. And I, and I’m saying just, uh, a, a, a life that it’s different, that one that they can envision, but really they’re not living a big life. Something with meaning. So there are a lot of people right now looking for meaning.
Yeah. And you always, or sometimes you don’t find meaning in money. Sure. Or in your job.
Speaker 4: Right.
Robert Acosta: Or in the, even in the things that you, like, you can have meaning in, in many other things that maybe you’re not thinking about. So the way I’m different, I would say is that I really focus on the person and I tell my clients always this, this thing, if you really want to live a big life, and that’s what I am, actually, I’m a big life coach.
So I work with people that really want to live life at its fullest. So I work in three planes, mental, physical, and financially, you have to have the If you are missing one of those parts, You’re not going to have a full life. I would say.
Nim Stant: So the big life you need to have mental work on the mental work on the physical work on the financial.
Robert Acosta: Exactly.
Nim Stant: So that’s the definition of your big life.
Robert Acosta: Yeah, even I can say that my technique and say or my philosophy has an acronym that is service. Which means, uh, the first S E R is, uh, mental serenity, physical vitality and financial certainty. So that’s service. If you get those, if you want me to help you to achieve those three things, I assure you, you’re going to feel and you’re going to live a life that it’s fullest and you’re going to love it.
Nim Stant: So how can you help people make the decisions? You said you help people make that million dollar decision or any right decision. How do you help them?
Robert Acosta: Well, the way I help them is with a simple question. What do you want? But even though it seems or it sounds very simple, the first answers are going to be about what you were learned to want, what you were taught to want, what you are said that you needed to want.
A family money, a house, all those things. We were learn, we learned when we were kids that we need to want and that’s what we want. But you, when you go deeper and deeper and deeper, they discover that they want many other things or at different things. So through that question, they start building really a vision.
And the most important thing. I say, well, look for something that you can do and you won’t even stop doing it that the time passes and you still focus on that. So I start with that question and even I say, question everything from now on, question everything in your life and then find something that you like or something that you really want to focus on that really fall in love with that idea.
And when you’re really in love with that idea. Just pursue it. Focus on that.

Nim Stant: So honest answer. Okay. Um, Robert, what is your opinions about having it all? Can we have everything? Yes. Honest answer.
Robert Acosta: Yeah. Um, I, I discovered myself through these decades that, uh, I have, and we all have a lot of potential that we don’t use a lot of capacities of, uh, grow more, achieve more, and perform better.
So when you can imagine a life the way you can imagine your life, if you can imagine it, you can have it. So, have it all means that what is what you want. So that’s your all. It’s not that you have all of the things that everybody wants. No. What is the thing or the things or the circumstances that you want to live, the kind of life you want to have.
That is the definition of your all. That’s your all. And then you can have it all. You can have your thing. You can have your that vision. You can have that lifestyle if you really want it first. And then you believe that you can, you can have it. And then I help you believe that because I help you understand who you are.
And then you focus to just go after that and anything else.
Nim Stant: So what if, you know, I have seen so many entrepreneurs working so hard, travel around the world, but they’re not with their family, that they’re missing the time that they see the kids growing up. They’re missing the orchestra performance.
They’re missing the, you know, sport or whatever it is. And they just live in the hotel, live on the airplane, travel around, impact a lot of people, but yet they didn’t, they didn’t have it all. How can you help them?
Robert Acosta: Well, if those people Part of their life is having their family and really taking care of their children, being there with their kids.
Yes, there’s something that that person in this example is doing wrong. He or she is not having or not living at all if that is part of the equation. So your kids or your family or your career, all is one thing. And as you say, you have to go, uh, and to go with one hat only. You don’t have the hat of when you’re working your hat, when you are a parent and your hat.
When you are a friend, you, you have to have one hat and it’s you. That’s the first thing that you need to define who are you? And then. Give yourself or take yourself everywhere. So in order to balance and and I say balance, I don’t want to use the word balance a lot. I don’t believe
Nim Stant: in work. Yeah,
Robert Acosta: there’s no no such a thing.
Life is on balance all the time. Even when you walk, you’re on balancing one step the other. You’re right all the time. So it’s not to find the balance, but to stay in a in a state, let’s say that you’re you’re integrating integrating. All your life. So you have the, not a balance, but the same, the the, the kind of, uh, exact proportion that you did in time and money that you dedicate to your kids, to your family, to your profession, to your sports, to your body, to your health.
So you have to find that out and that you can build it. When you have a vision, went through some questions, you go and find your new vision or your new even, I would say your new purpose. Mm-Hmm. something that is even bigger than you. And then you can not balance but integrate into your life every single aspect that you want to have in your life.

Nim Stant: So are you a positive guy?
Robert Acosta: Oh, definitely.
Nim Stant: Are you only talking about positive things?
Robert Acosta: Mm hmm.
Nim Stant: What about if something doesn’t turn out the way you want?
Robert Acosta: Well, uh, I, I know the term of positive thinking. I don’t teach positive thinking.
Speaker 4: Okay.
Robert Acosta: I teach positive action. So, yes, of course, you need to think positive or to think that you can do something or do that you really want and go after something.
But you have to do. So that’s the key.
Nim Stant: Right. So if you don’t take action, you don’t
Robert Acosta: take action, you can think beautifully and have a lot of images, but it’s just going to be a dream. Exactly. So that’s why in this quest of looking for what you want, I go a little bit further and ask them, what is your purpose?
What is something that is bigger than you, bigger than your family and your small community? What is the impact that you want to make in the world? So when you go after that, after a purpose, you’re going to wake up every morning excited that you are building or you’re working towards something bigger than you.
And that purpose has this, uh, element or this, um, characteristic of is infinite. So it never ends. It’s even better than having goals. Yes, you can have goals and you can set those, those up. But when you you get your goal, then you have to start all over again. So it’s better to have a purpose. So you have, you’re going to have that stamina every day that say, Oh, I’m working in my purpose, which is bigger than me.
Nim Stant: In terms of, you know, being the big life coach, what do you think the mistake that average people made in terms of living the big life? What’s the mistake?
Robert Acosta: Well, if we can call it a mistake, maybe is to believe that whatever you think about or whatever you have and you’re longing to have in the future is the right thing without questioning.
So you have to really set up your purpose or your or your vision. And question everything that you learned or you known so far. And don’t get me wrong, we have a lot of beliefs since we were kids. But those beliefs have been changing. In our adult life, we change beliefs. Well, keep doing that. I think that the mistake that people make is that they stop.
They say, Oh, I’m an adult. I’m 30, 40, 50 years old. I’m done. I’m just going to follow my heart. My beliefs when you need to start or you need to continue questioning your beliefs and even building a new beliefs in order to put your art, your life on course, on the course of your goal or your course of your purpose.
So I think that that’s, lemme say you, you’re not done. You are, there are a lot of things that you can discover in yourself in order to manifest those things on your life.
Nim Stant: Share with us a little bit about your book, Robert.
Robert Acosta: Okay, I wrote this book when in the middle of the pandemic and it’s called seven secrets to have it all.
So I decided to put together all the insights, my personal insight, my personal secrets that took me where I am. Okay,
Nim Stant: walk through very quick. What is the secret number one?
Robert Acosta: Well, the secret number one is you have to have a vision. You have to know what you want.
Nim Stant: Secret number two.
Robert Acosta: The secret number two. You have to have, um, um, the right attitude.
Yeah. Secret number three. No. Secret number three is you have to believe that you can have that, that attitude and you can get what you want.
Nim Stant: Secret number four.
Robert Acosta: Number four is your physical health is vital. You have to be physically. Physically hit. Yeah,
Speaker 4: five.
Robert Acosta: Five is you have to be an entrepreneur.
Everyone is an entrepreneur. So even though you work with in a company, you decided to put yourselves in that company. So have that mentality of being an entrepreneur.
Nim Stant: Okay, number six.
Robert Acosta: So number six is to have, uh, preparation and, uh, prepare. All the time. All the time. You have to be, be ready all the time.
Learning. Learning are learning. Yeah.
Nim Stant: And last one,
Robert Acosta: last one. You have to find, uh, people that help you or coaches. So if you really want to make something, uh, meaningful with your life, you cannot do it alone. You can do it alone, but it’s gonna take you a long time, a lot of effort. So I really recommend that you have not only one, several.
I have several coaches working with me right now,
Speaker 4: right?
Robert Acosta: So because I want to do something meaningful with my life and with the life of others. So. You definitely need coaches if you really want to do something. Find
Nim Stant: the right mentor. Yeah,
Robert Acosta: right
Nim Stant: mentor. Now, now, I am going to circle back to a secret. I don’t remember five or six, but being an entrepreneur, probably five, right?
I mean, I want my son, my, my, my, my son and my daughter to be entrepreneur before. And now that I am an entrepreneur, I want to go back and tell them, don’t do it.
Robert Acosta: It’s a hard work.
Nim Stant: And I say. Being entrepreneur is not for everyone, but when you know what you want, go for it. Because if you don’t know what you want, then it doesn’t matter what industry you’re in.
It’s going to be so tough. You don’t want to get up in the morning and do it. But when you decide to be an entrepreneur, you know what you want, you want to achieve it. It’s not a work, you know, it’s just, it’s just you. It’s in every part of your body. Yeah.
Robert Acosta: Yeah. So what I say for entrepreneurs is that You have to have that freedom.
Yeah. You really want to have it all.
Speaker 4: Exactly. If you
Robert Acosta: really want to live at your fullest, you cannot be at expense of other people’s agenda. You have to have your own agenda.
Nim Stant: That’s right. You need to have your own agenda. And I would say, if you don’t know what you want, you’re going to end up doing something that all the people’s want you to do.
And guess what? There’s nothing for you. Not much for you.
Robert Acosta: That’s why the first question is, what do you want? What do you want? Not your wife or your husband or your community or the priest or your kids or your friends? What do you want? Then you need to know first who you are.
Speaker 4: Yeah,
Robert Acosta: so that’s why we the place that we go and it’s not the therapy.
It’s very quickly. that you understand that and you find that out.
Nim Stant: So Robert, it’s been great pleasure to talk to you and sit down here and have a discussion with you. Now, how can our audience at home find you and work with you?
Robert Acosta: Well, they can find me in Instagram or LinkedIn. My Instagram is robertgacosta.
It’s easy to, to, to find me. And, uh, and even they, they can, they can find me in, in general in Facebook or Instagram. And, um, yes, uh, I have a website that is called AcostaLife. com, and there you can even book a, a, a call, a, a, a call with me. And then your
Nim Stant: digital book online that they can download very easily, right?
Yeah, you can
Robert Acosta: find it in Amazon for 7, and all the money is donated to, uh, to a foundation called Unstoppable. So whatever you do, if you can promote this book, everything is going to kids and families in Kenya, Africa. That is part of my purpose. That’s wonderful.
Nim Stant: Thank you for being here. My pleasure. Thank you for
Robert Acosta: having me.
